The Midcontinent Independent System Operator approved a transmission build‑out worth approximately $12.3 billion covering more than 1,900 miles of high‑voltage lines across its 14‑state footprint. The portfolio includes nearly 432 individual transmission projects designed to increase grid capacity and reliability as electricity demand rises.
